We’re proud to share that our founder and president, R. Jason Cronk, Esq., has been appointed to the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Committee of The Florida Bar, effective July 1!
A fitting next step for someone who has spent years building the standards infrastructure IOPD exists to advance… Jason’s journey here started well before privacy! From development and IT to co-founding three companies before moving into information security at Verizon and eventually privacy consulting, law, and academia as an Adjunct Professor at both Stevens Institute of Technology and formerly Florida State University’s College of Law.
He was designated a Privacy by Design Ambassador by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario’s office in 2014, and was engaged as subject matter expert on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Privacy Framework in 2019. He remains an active member of the NIST Privacy Workforce Working Group today, the same standards-first thinking that led him to found IOPD and that continues to guide our work defining common, practical benchmarks for privacy by design.
He’s also the author of the IAPP CIPT textbook Strategic Privacy by Design, Principal Consultant of Enterprivacy Consulting Group, and an IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) with CIPP/US, CIPT, and CIPM certifications.
Congratulations, Jason! We’re excited to see your expertise put to work for the legal community.
