Consultant specialized in data protections solutions engineering and implementation and support of privacy compliance programs. Pablo is an Ecuadorian attorney with a Diploma in Privacy and Compliance from the Universidad Santiago de Chile (USACH) and a LLM in Data Protection from the University of La Rioja (Spain). He also has the following professional certifications: ISO 27701 implementer leader; ISO 29100 Implementation Leader; Implementation of Privacy as a DPO under the GDPR; and, Privacy Management and Governance as DPO under the GDPR. Pablo focuses his practice on personal data protection and technology in the financial sector (Fintech). He has been part of leading local and global firms, in addition to having a constant participation in key spaces to promote best practices in his advisory areas in entities such as the Ecuadorian Financial Cluster, Ecuadorian Chamber of Innovation and Technology (CITEC), Asofintech and the Technology Cluster. Currently, he is founder and lead consultant at PDP Expert, the first Ecuadorian neconsultancy firm specialized on data protection. He has advised national and multinational public and private sector entities (such as Meta, TikTok and Apple) on personal data protection matters, both with regard to the implementation of the new Ecuadorian law and on various privacy compliance matters. He has intervened as an invited expert at the work tables for the elaboration of the regulations to the Ecuadorian Data Protection Law. He has given numerous conferences as a guest expert on personal data protection at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, ECOTEC University, Universidad Tecnológica Indoamérica and the Center for Continuing Education of CEDIA. Pablo has made several publications in specialized magazines such as DATTA and Industria legal. He is the author of the first Ecuadorian guide to compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law published in E-Book format under the title: “Designing the future: protection of personal data” and of the Step-by-step Implementation Guide for a compliance with Ecuadorian personal data protection regulations. He is also the author of the “Third Country Assessment” of the Ecuadorian personal data protection legislation published by the leading global data protection platform: OneTrust Data Guidance.
