The Standards Committee is established by the bylaws as a standing, permanent committee of cross functional, global experts in privacy design.
The Standards Committee
Creates and maintains the Privacy Design standards by which organizations, products, services and/or business processes may be certified. Members of the Standards Committee, may be nominated by the Board of Directors, Advisors, or by Individual Ambassadors. Self-nominations to the committee are also accepted. It’s been four years in the making! The Standards Committee spent over a year drafting, discussing, editing, reediting, soliciting and responding to public comments, and we eventually created the 1st iteration of what we hope will become a gold standard in Privacy by Design.
Draft of the Privacy Design Process Standard near completion
[December 2021] The Institute of Operational Privacy Design’s Standards Committee is nearing completion of the Design Process Standard. This standard will allow companies to ensure their design process rigorously incorporates privacy requirements. We expect the draft standard to be launched in late January for public feedback.
